Murcia Fire Consortium invests over €2 million in equipment

The Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia (CEIS) has mobilized more than two million euros during the first seven months of 2026 to modernize its firefighting and rescue resources. The investment covers the acquisition and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, supplies, and essential services to ensure operational readiness for emergencies.

Approximately 900,000 euros are dedicated to infrastructure improvements, including projects for fire stations in Caravaca de la Cruz, San Pedro del Pinatar, and Los Alcázares, as well as renovations in Molina de Segura, Yecla, and Lorca. Additionally, the budget includes 133,100 euros for 400 F2XR helmets for technical rescue and forest fire fighting, along with 85 thermal imaging cameras.

Marcos Ortuño, the Counselor for Presidency, Youth, External Action, and Emergencies, stated during a visit to the Yecla station that these actions aim to increase response capacity for fires, traffic accidents, and rescues across the municipalities served by the Consortium.
