Murcia firefighting resource modernization

Overview

The Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia (CEIS) has invested more than two million euros during the first seven months of 2026 to modernize its firefighting and rescue resources.

This funding covers the acquisition and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and supplies, alongside infrastructure improvements for fire stations in Caravaca de la Cruz, San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcázares, Molina de Segura, Yecla, and Lorca. Specific equipment purchases include 400 F2XR helmets for technical rescue and forest fire fighting, as well as 85 thermal imaging cameras.

Marcos Ortuño, the Counselor for Presidency, Youth, External Action, and Emergencies, noted that these actions are intended to increase response capacity for fires, traffic accidents, and rescues throughout the municipalities served by the Consortium.
