Region of Murcia promotes tourism and nature activities

The Region of Murcia is promoting its natural and cultural heritage through new tourism initiatives and environmental activities. The regional government has launched an innovative tourist map designed to improve the visibility of local destinations, including museums, monuments, natural routes, and gastronomy. This digital and physical tool aims to support sustainable tourism by encouraging visitors to explore lesser-known areas and reducing overcrowding.

Complementing these efforts, the Ministry of Environment has introduced a series of environmental education and awareness activities for the end of August. These include guided routes through Calblanque and the Chícamo River, biodiversity workshops, and specialized activities focused on protecting the loggerhead sea turtle in San Pedro del Pinatar.

The region also highlights its unique geological formations, such as Monte Arabí, the Gredas de Bolnuevo, and the Sima de la Higuera, offering diverse experiences ranging from hiking and rock art discovery to speleology and coastal photography.
