This movement is seeing significant success, with at least a dozen establishments across the state now offering halal meats, such as brisket, turkey, and lamb, prepared according to Islamic guidelines.

Goldee's BBQ in Fort Worth serves as a prominent example. Opened in 2020, the restaurant was named the top barbecue spot in the state by Texas Monthly and received a Bib Gourmand award from the Michelin Guide. Despite political tensions regarding growing Muslim communities in the region, the restaurant continues to attract large crowds seeking halal options.

Other notable businesses include Yearby's Barbecue & Waterice, led by CJ and Sabrina Henley, and Levant Mediterranean BBQ, which operates in Houston and Frisco. The rise of halal barbecue reflects a broader trend where halal food has transitioned from a niche market into a multi-billion dollar segment of the American culinary mainstream.
