Mut district receives largest share of Mersin agricultural support
Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer met with 44 neighborhood mukhtars from the Mut district to discuss local investments and agricultural support.
During the meeting, Seçer highlighted that Mut is receiving the largest share of the municipality's agricultural budget. He noted that the district's geography and high agricultural output—including olives, apricots, figs, and various fruits—necessitate significant support.
Specifically, Seçer stated that the municipality distributes nearly 100 kilometers of irrigation pipes annually, with 40% to 45% of that total being allocated to Mut to meet its high demand. The district comprises 102 neighborhoods, 87 of which are rural.
