Mersin Mayor Vahap Seçer has emphasized targeted support for high-output areas, noting that the Mut district receives the largest share of the municipality’s agricultural budget.

Furthermore, the municipality has expanded its aid to include maritime sectors and rural infrastructure. Through the ‘Support from Metropolitan, Fortune from the Sea’ project, 22.5 million TRY has been allocated to small-scale fishermen, livestock breeders, and olive producers. To modernize rural production, the municipality supports female producers, nomadic livestock breeders, and migratory beekeepers. The ‘Solar Panel Support’ project, managed by the Department of Agricultural Services, has provided electricity to 1,160 households since 2023. This initiative targets areas with limited electrical infrastructure, allowing producers like goat breeder Habibe Bolat in the Tarsus district to access lighting, communication, and refrigeration services.
