MÁV announces rail maintenance and infrastructure updates in Hungary

Hungarian railway services are undergoing significant changes due to maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. On Wednesday, August 12, track maintenance between Veszprém and Ajka will disrupt train services. MÁV has announced that replacement buses will operate on this section, affecting several long-distance routes including the Citadella InterCity from Budapest to Ljubljana and the Göcsej InterCity between Budapest and Zalaegerszeg. Travelers are advised to check updated schedules via MÁV mobile applications.

Separately, the H6 HÉV line to Ráckeve has resumed full service following the completion of repairs at the Mű út level crossing between Szigetszentmiklós and Szigethalom. MÁV Group CEO Zsolt Hegyi stated that the crossing was renovated using company resources, resolving previous issues where vehicles could only pass at 30 km/h. The upgrade allows for speeds of 60 km/h and improves safety and flow for the high-traffic area.
