MWC Shanghai 2026 Highlights AI Economy, 6G and ZTE Gaming Devices
The GSMA Mobile World Congress in Shanghai wrapped up after three days, drawing 37,300 participants from 143 countries—a 33% rise on the previous edition. Attendees included senior executives and leaders from outside the mobile sector, and the programme emphasized the AI‑driven economy, the rollout of 5G‑Advanced as a foundation for AI, and forward‑looking discussions on 6G, robotics and satellite networking. GSMA CEO John Hoffman said the event showed “the industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation.”
At the show ZTE showcased its “AI + Gaming” strategy, unveiling the Nubia Neo 5 series. The line features the GT Special Edition with a dual “Liquid + Air” active‑cooling system, dual shoulder triggers and AI‑assisted performance optimisation, as well as the Max “PadPhone” model that blends a 7.5‑inch tablet‑size display with smartphone portability. The devices target competitive mobile esports and aim to bring high‑end gaming capabilities to a broader audience.
