México Canta competition concludes with three winners
The second edition of the 'México Canta' songwriting competition has concluded with three winners recognized at the Auditorio Nacional: Bryan Soto from Valle de Chalco, Mexico; Tiffany Galaviz from Glendale, California; and Lizandro Espinoza from Portland, Oregon.
Bryan Soto won with his composition ‘Labios de cereza’, while Tiffany Galaviz performed ‘Cosa fina de mi país’ and Lizandro Espinoza presented ‘Pena de la buena’. The winners have earned a contract to record a professional album and will perform at the Zócalo in Mexico City on September 15 as part of the national independence celebrations.
An initiative by the Mexican Secretariat of Culture, the Mexican Music Council, and Canal Veintidós, the contest aims to promote new musical narratives and high-quality content among young artists of Mexican origin living in both Mexico and the United States.
