Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing completes official visit to Vietnam

Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing concluded an official visit to Vietnam from September 4 to 6, 2026. During the visit, the President and his delegation met with high-level Vietnamese leaders, including General Secretary and President To Lam and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, to discuss deepening bilateral ties and parliamentary cooperation.

As part of the visit, President Min Aung Hlaing toured the VinFast Hai Phong Manufacturing Complex, where he observed the production of electric vehicles and the company's automated manufacturing processes. The visit highlighted the growing economic connection between the two nations, with bilateral trade turnover reaching over 510 million USD in 2025-2026. Vietnam remains a significant investor in Myanmar, with over 2.53 billion USD registered across more than 30 projects.

Cultural exchange was also a feature of the trip, as the First Ladies of both nations visited the Van Phuc silk village in Hanoi to explore traditional weaving heritage. The visit concluded with the Myanmar President and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang co-chairing the 2026 Vietnam-Myanmar Business Forum to promote further trade and investment.
