MyDr cyberattack potentially compromises data of 19 million people
A major cyberattack on the MyDr platform, which provides electronic medical documentation software, has potentially compromised the personal data of approximately 19 million people in Poland. The incident may affect up to 12,000 medical facilities.
In response, the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the e-Health Center are taking preventive measures. The e-Health Center has begun a gradual update of digital certificates used for the P1 system to ensure secure communication. Officials stated there is currently no evidence that these P1 certificates have been compromised.
Citizens are being advised to reserve their PESEL numbers to mitigate the risk of identity theft and financial fraud. The Polish Bank Association noted that a reserved PESEL can prevent unauthorized loans or credit applications. Within approximately one week, individuals should be able to verify if their data was included in the breach through the government 'Bezpieczne Dane' service.
