Mykonos drug ring dismantled by Greek authorities
Authorities in Greece have dismantled a drug trafficking ring operating in Mykonos, led by a Turkish national. The criminal organization utilized a fleet of luxury VIP transfer vans to distribute various narcotics, including cocaine, MDMA, ecstasy, and cannabis, to tourists and local clients.
Intercepted communications reveal the group used coded language to evade detection. Pink cocaine was referred to as ‘lachmadzun’, ‘secret recipe’, or ‘colorful’, while cannabis was called ‘Jenny’. The ring leader expressed ambitions to dominate the island’s nightlife, making provocative remarks about conquering Mykonos before the arrival of Turkish President Erdoğan.
Police operations in Mykonos and Attica resulted in the seizure of over 350g of cocaine, 155g of pink cocaine, and various other drugs. Financial assets seized included over 80,000 euros, 9,500 dollars, and British pounds. The estimated illegal profit from the recent shipment exceeds 170,000 euros. The intercepted dialogues also showed the group's hostility toward law enforcement and discussions regarding violent methods to maintain market control.
