Mykonos drug ring dismantled by Greek police
Greek police have dismantled an organized drug trafficking ring operating on the island of Mykonos. The operation, conducted on August 21, 2026, resulted in the arrest of nine gang members and a 22-year-old individual for drug possession.
The criminal organization utilized a structured hierarchy to manage the procurement, storage, and distribution of narcotics. A 35-year-old man was identified as the leader, responsible for sourcing drugs, organizing deliveries to Mykonos, and managing profits. His primary associate, also 35, handled storage and client contact, while a 54-year-old woman was tasked with guarding and transporting cash between Mykonos and Athens.
A key tactic used by the group involved exploiting professional roles to reach customers. Several members, aged 24 to 34, worked as drivers or assistants for passenger transport services, using their daily contact with tourists to identify potential buyers.
During searches in Mykonos and Attica, authorities seized 359.5 grams of cocaine, 155.2 grams of ‘pink cocaine’, 58.3 grams of MDMA, 277.8 grams of cannabis, and 113 ecstasy tablets. Police also recovered weapons and over 80,000 euros in cash. The total illegal economic benefit from the ring's activities is estimated to exceed 170,000 euros.
