Mykonos police seize cocaine, ketamine and hallucinogenic mushrooms in drug bust
Greek police on the island of Mykonos arrested a 30‑year‑old man on July 3 after uncovering a large stash of narcotics. Searches of his home, a nearby “kavatsi” and his vehicle yielded 239 packets of cocaine, pink cocaine weighing 296.5 g, 154 g of processed cannabis, 37 packets of ketamine (31.3 g), 31 g of powdered hallucinogenic mushrooms, 50 drug tablets, a balance scale, €8,000, $1,160 and a mobile phone. Authorities estimate the illicit profit from the operation at roughly €45,000.
The suspect was also subject to a European arrest warrant issued by Italian authorities for drug smuggling and a Schengen entry ban imposed by German authorities. He has been transferred to the appropriate prosecutorial office, and the seized substances will be sent to the forensic chemistry service for analysis.
