Kyiv and surrounding regions hit by massive Russian missile and drone attacks

Russia has launched a series of massive missile and drone attacks targeting Kyiv and surrounding regions, marking a significant escalation in aerial warfare. In Kyiv, a ballistic missile strike hit a state railway depot and maintenance workshops, killing seven people, including six railway employees. Other strikes in the capital caused fires in residential and non-residential districts, resulting in additional casualties and injuries, including children.

In the Boryspil area, strikes damaged a commercial facility and a residential building, causing at least one death and multiple injuries. A separate, highly lethal strike on an ammunition warehouse in the Bucha district resulted in at least 38 deaths and caused widespread destruction due to secondary explosions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia's tactic is to “wear down” the Ukrainian people. The attacks have also targeted energy and fuel infrastructure. Meanwhile, Ukraine has responded with drone strikes against Russian targets, including a fire at the Ust-Luga port in the Leningrad region and strikes on oil facilities in the Samara region. The Ukrainian Air Force continues to warn of ongoing ballistic weapon threats.
