NABU launches Bird-O-Mat tool for 2027 Bird of the Year vote

The Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU), in partnership with the Bavarian LBV, has launched the ‘Bird-O-Mat’, an interactive online tool designed to assist voters in the selection of the 2027 Bird of the Year.

More than 110,000 people have already participated in the public vote. The tool uses seven targeted questions to help users identify their preferred species based on appearance and ecological roles. The current candidates include the common raven, crane, common swallow, European pied flycatcher, and water wren.
