Nadia Comaneci returns to Montreal for 50th anniversary of perfect 10

Romanian gymnastics legend Nadia Comaneci visited Montreal on July 30, 2026 to mark the 50‑year anniversary of her historic perfect‑10 score at the 1976 Summer Olympics. The 64‑year‑old, who earned seven perfect scores and three gold medals in Montreal, reflected on the lasting impact of the moment, noting the scoreboard glitch that displayed “1.00” instead of a perfect ten.

During the visit she was accompanied by her husband, former Olympic gymnast Bart Conner, and Canadian Olympic Committee president and 1976 Olympian Tricia Smith. Activities included receiving an honorary doctorate from the University of Montreal and attending the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at the Centre Claude‑Robillard.
