Olympic gymnastics legend Nadia Comăneci, aged 64, visited the Lia Manoliu National Sports Complex in Bucharest while filming her documentary with director Tudor Giurgiu. She observed that the gym’s air‑conditioning system was insufficient for the athletes training there. Using her own money, Comăneci purchased two new air‑conditioning units for the facility, stating she was delighted to help the young gymnasts and coaches. The donation aims to improve training conditions for the gym’s users, including future Romanian stars.

The gesture was highlighted by the former gymnast as a small but heartfelt contribution to a venue she remembers from her own youth, underscoring her ongoing commitment to Romanian sport.
