Nador Port fish catch falls 14% in first half of 2026

In the first six months of 2026, the volume of coastal and traditional fish products unloaded at Nador Port dropped 14 % to 1,453 tons, down from 1,699 tons in the same period of 2025. The market value of these products fell by the same margin to 66.15 million dirhams, compared with 76.57 million dirhams a year earlier.

Surface‑caught fish at the port declined 9 % to 229 tons, generating revenue of 2.22 million dirhams. White‑fish volumes rose 2 % to 448 tons, but value fell 4 % to just over 12.04 million dirhams. Mollusk unloads plummeted 32 % to 477 tons, with revenues down 20 % at roughly 33.18 million dirhams, while crustacean volumes slipped 1 % to 298 tons, worth about 18.70 million dirhams.

Nationally, total Moroccan coastal and traditional fish catch decreased 6 % to 367,184 tons, yet overall market value increased 2 % to 4.91 billion dirhams versus 4.81 billion dirhams the previous year.
