NADRA launches free Proof of Life Certificate service for pensioners

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a free Proof of Life Certificate service for pensioners across Pakistan. Initiated under directives from Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the program aims to simplify the verification process for elderly, bedridden, and differently abled individuals.

Eligible pensioners can obtain certificates through the PakID mobile app, allowing them to complete the process from home. Family members may also use their own PakID accounts to assist pensioners with identity verification.

For those requiring physical assistance, the service is available at over 5,000 e-Sahulat franchises, 988 NADRA Registration Centres, and approximately 500 Union Councils, where pensioners will receive priority service. NADRA also offers mobile registration vans and biker services for those with limited mobility.

The digital system will allow authorized banks to verify a pensioner’s status directly, reducing the need for physical paperwork. The National Pensioners Register is expected to expand in the future to include pensioners from various government institutions and private organizations.
