NADRA outlines identity document procedures and Sindh educational integration

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has detailed the requirements for Pakistani citizens aged 18 and older applying for their first Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). Applicants must provide the CNIC number of a registered parent or blood relative and a birth registration reference, such as a Child Registration Certificate (B-Form) number or a Computerized Birth Registration Certificate Management System (CRMS) number. Verification can be completed via biometric authentication by a relative or through a gazetted officer or public representative.

Additionally, NADRA has outlined procedures for replacing lost B-Forms. Parents can apply at a registration center or via the Pak ID mobile app, with fees set at Rs50 for normal service and Rs500 for executive service.

In a separate development, Sindh has become the first province in Pakistan to link all its educational boards with NADRA. An agreement signed by Provincial Minister for Universities Ismail Rahoo and NADRA officials aims to integrate educational boards into a secure digital system. This initiative is intended to prevent fake degrees and proxy examinations while ensuring the digitization of educational records. Verified degrees will be accessible through the Pak ID app, and NADRA will provide this integration service to the boards free of charge.
