Nafpaktos Venetian Port restoration completed by Ministry of Culture

The Greek Ministry of Culture has completed the restoration, maintenance, and stabilization of the Venetian Port in Nafpaktos. The project aims to protect this historic landmark, which is a central part of the city's fortified complex and archaeological site.

To mark the completion of the works, Culture Minister Lina Mendoni officially handed the restored port over to the local community. The event was celebrated with a concert by the National Symphony Orchestra of ERT, conducted by Myron Michailidis and featuring soprano Tsina Foteinopoulou. The performance took place under a full moon at the Venetian Port and was broadcast live by ERT3.

Minister Mendoni emphasized that the restoration is of significant historical and cultural importance, noting that the port is an integral part of the identity of both Nafpaktos and Greece. The project is part of a broader strategic plan by the Ministry to protect and promote the cultural heritage of Nafpaktos and the Aetolia-Acarnania region.
