Nagaland and Google partner on Rs 10-cr school education initiative

The Nagaland government has announced a partnership with Google involving an investment of more than Rs 10 crore aimed at enhancing school education. The collaboration focuses on integrating technology, artificial intelligence, and other emerging digital skills into the curriculum to improve learning outcomes and employment opportunities for the state's youth.

Announced by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio during the inauguration of the Tech X Gaming Expo in Kohima, the initiative seeks to leverage technology to overcome the state's geographical constraints. By fostering skills in areas such as software development, data analytics, robotics, and game design, the government aims to connect young people to global opportunities without requiring them to leave the region.

Additional government efforts include the proposed establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence to support AI-based startups and training, as well as the upcoming Nagaland Innovation Hub for Startups at Chümoukedima.
