Nagaland Governor highlights FNTA agreement for Eastern Nagaland development
Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav has highlighted the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) agreement as a significant milestone for the development of Eastern Nagaland. The agreement, signed between the Government of India, the Government of Nagaland, and the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO), aims to foster inclusive growth and strengthen institutions while maintaining the state's unity.
The Revised FNTA Bill 2026, passed by the Assembly in September 2026, seeks to establish the authority across the Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Noklak, and Shamator districts. During visits to the Tuensang and Longleng districts, the Governor emphasized the importance of community-led development and grassroots engagement.
Governor Yadav noted the economic potential in sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, handloom, handicrafts, and tourism within these districts. He encouraged local farmers and entrepreneurs to adopt modern technologies, value addition, and digital marketing to create sustainable livelihoods and drive regional prosperity.
