Nagaland Governor urges youth to pursue entrepreneurship

Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav has called on the state's youth to seek opportunities beyond government employment, emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship and skill development to build a self-reliant Nagaland.

Speaking at the State Level Youth Festival 2026 in Kohima, Yadav noted that government positions alone cannot satisfy the aspirations of all young people. He encouraged the exploration of emerging sectors, including digital technology, agriculture, tourism, handicrafts, and creative industries.

The Governor also highlighted a skill-based initiative by the Youth Resources and Sports Department designed to provide athletes with alternative livelihoods. Under this program, 80 athletes have received training in diverse fields such as baking, floristry, crochet, mobile phone repair, and pickle-making to support them beyond their sporting careers.
