Nagoshi Studio reportedly shuts down after funding withdrawal

Nagoshi Studio, founded by Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi, has reportedly ceased operations following a period of silence. The studio's upcoming project, Gang of Dragon, appears to be cancelled after the publisher, NetEase, abruptly halted funding.

Reports indicate that Nagoshi was seeking approximately $45 million to complete the game. Following the withdrawal of support, the studio's official website and YouTube channel were removed from the internet. While no official statement has been released by the studio, journalist Andy Robinson reports that the studio has effectively vanished and that Nagoshi has been seeking employment with other studios.
