Nagoshi Studio closure and leadership changes
Overview
Nagoshi Studio, founded by Toshihiro Nagoshi and established as a subsidiary of NetEase Games in 2022, has reportedly ceased operations following the withdrawal of funding. Reports indicate that NetEase halted support for the studio’s upcoming project, ‘Gang of Dragon’, in March 2026. Following this, the studio’s official website and YouTube channel were removed from the internet.
While journalist Andy Robinson reported that the studio has “effectively vanished” and that Nagoshi has been seeking employment elsewhere, corporate registry records show the company still exists. However, there has been a significant leadership shift: Toshihiro Nagoshi and previous directors have stepped down, leaving Minoru Morinaga as the sole director. The previous structure of the board of directors and auditors has been abolished.
