Nagpur bank robber arrested after using chili powder as weapon

A 28-year-old unemployed man, identified as Suraj Bhojraj Borkar, was arrested following an unusual bank robbery in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The incident occurred at a State Bank of India branch around 6:00 PM.

Borkar entered the bank wearing a white cloth mask and sprayed chili powder at bank employees to cause chaos and physical distress. During the confusion, he jumped over the counter and stole approximately 400,000 to 453,000 rupees.

An employee pursued the suspect, and local patrolling police officers assisted in the manhunt. Borkar was apprehended less than 30 minutes after the crime, roughly one kilometer from the bank. All stolen cash was recovered. Investigators noted that the suspect was facing significant debt, reportedly stemming from failed stock market speculations.
