Nagpur man arrested after robbing SBI branch with chilli powder

A man identified as 28-year-old Suraj Borkar was arrested after attempting to rob a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The incident occurred on a Thursday evening in the Sakkardara police station area.

According to CCTV footage and police reports, the masked suspect entered the premises and threw red chilli powder into the eyes of bank employees, causing panic and temporary blindness among the staff. During the ensuing chaos, Borkar snatched a bag containing approximately Rs 4.53 lakh in cash.

Bank employees and police personnel pursued the suspect, who was apprehended about one kilometer away within 30 minutes of the incident. Authorities successfully recovered the entire stolen amount. Police are currently investigating whether the suspect acted alone or with accomplices.
