PBNU announces new 2026–2031 leadership structure
The leadership structure for the Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) for the 2026–2031 period has been officially announced. The new administration consists of 210 members, including representatives from various generations and regional backgrounds. KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, also known as Gus Kikin, will serve as the General Chairperson (Ketua Umum), while KH Miftachul Akhyar holds the position of Rais Aam.
Key appointments within the new structure include Gudfan Arif as Secretary General, H. Ainun Na'im as General Treasurer, and Gus Baha (KH Bahauddin Nur Salim) as one of the Vice Rais Aam in the Syuriyah division. The organization aims to use the Qanun Asasi as a reference for its service. The inauguration of the new board is targeted to coincide with National Santri Day in Jakarta.
Following the announcement, Gus Kikin met with President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace to introduce the new leadership and emphasize PBNU's commitment to national unity and synergy with the government. The new structure includes prominent figures from various pesantren, such as Tebuireng and Tambakberas, and seeks to balance representation across different Indonesian regions.
