Nahdlatul Ulama holds 35th Muktamar in Jombang

The 35th Muktamar of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) was held from August 27–31, 2026, at the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School in Jombang. The event, which was officially closed by President Prabowo Subianto, featured a significant integration of digital technology and traditional values.

Media coverage was extensive, with 575 journalists from 237 different media outlets participating. The organizing committee utilized a dedicated digital portal for accreditation, news submission, and press card issuance via RFID-equipped cards. To manage the large volume of information, the committee collected over 5,148 news links and produced 121 news reports through their official portal.

Technological elements also included a Command Center, extensive CCTV coverage, and nightly drone light shows that projected the faces of NU founders and religious symbols into the sky. Local organizing committee chairman Abdurrozaq Sholeh noted that the success of the event was driven by the spirit of sacrifice exemplified by the organization's founders.
