Nahdlatul Ulama Muktamar 2026 focuses on organizational revitalization

Participants noted that NU has been insufficiently active in monitoring these issues, potentially due to a lack of organizational financial independence. To address this, there are calls to revive the 'Nahdatut Tujjar' spirit to foster entrepreneurship and technological skills among members, alongside a proposed redesign of the curriculum for NU's cadres and student organizations like PMII.

It is viewed as a critical space to formulate organizational direction that addresses the complex needs of Indonesian society. Figures such as Ainun Ni’am have suggested that the selection of the PBNU Chairperson should be a byproduct of the Muktamar's strategic deliberations rather than its sole purpose. Potential leadership candidates and roles, including KH. Abdul Hakim Mahfudz for the position of Katib Aam, have also been discussed within the context of the organization's evolving challenges.
