Nairobi police arrest woman for concealing cannabis in bread

Police in Nairobi have arrested a 26-year-old woman, Bernice Achieng, after discovering cannabis concealed inside a loaf of bread. Achieng had visited the Buruburu Police Station to see her boyfriend, who is currently in custody, and requested that officers pass him the bread. Upon inspection, officers found five rolls of cannabis and a matchbox hidden inside the loaf. A subsequent search of her clothing revealed an additional seven rolls, totaling twelve rolls of cannabis recovered.

In a separate incident in Thika West, a man identified as John Mwangi, also known as “Bombay,” was arrested following a high-speed motorcycle chase. Mwangi reportedly attempted to evade a police roadblock near Ree Supermarket, resulting in a crash after misjudging a speed bump. Police recovered 300 rolls of cannabis and an additional three kilograms of the substance strapped to the motorcycle seat. Mwangi is currently being processed at Kimuchu Police Station.
