Nairobi: Three killed in Kangundo Road motorcycle collision
Three people died in a head-on collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle along Kangundo Road in Nairobi on Saturday night. The accident occurred around 9:45 pm near a Total petrol station and PEFA Church.
Police reported that the motorcycle was traveling from Joska toward Kamulu town when it allegedly veered into the lane of an oncoming vehicle. The rider and two pillion passengers sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle was injured and transported to a hospital for treatment.
This incident is part of a broader trend of rising road fatalities in Kenya, where more than 4,000 people are killed annually in accidents. On the same Saturday night, police reported 15 people killed in separate road accidents across the country, with 21 others sustaining serious injuries. Common causes of fatal crashes cited by officials include hit-and-runs, tire bursts, loss of vehicle control, and improper overtaking.
