Nakuru police recover Sh7.2 million in bhang after highway crash
Police in Nakuru recovered 241.5 kilograms of bhang, valued at approximately Sh7.2 million, following a vehicle accident on the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway. The discovery occurred after a Mazda CX-5 collided with a Scania trailer near the Mbaruk area while the driver was attempting to overtake.
The collision caused extensive damage to the SUV, prompting the driver to abandon the wreckage and flee the scene. During the processing of the crash site, officers discovered six sacks of narcotics inside the vehicle.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has handed the case over to the National Anti-Narcotics Investigations Bureau (NANIB) in Nakuru. Detectives have launched a manhunt for the driver and are investigating the source and intended destination of the drugs.
