Nakuru Railway Bridge accident kills two pedestrians

A fatal accident occurred on Wednesday, October 7, at the Railway Bridge in Nakuru, Kenya, after a trailer or Isuzu truck reportedly ran over pedestrians. The victims, identified by some reports as a primary school student and a boda boda rider, had reportedly just alighted from a public transport minibus when the vehicle struck them.

Initial accounts suggest the truck may have lost control, possibly due to brake failure, after narrowly missing a passenger commuter van. The incident caused significant traffic congestion along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway near the Medi Junction as motorists approached the Central Business District.

Local residents have previously identified the Railway Bridge area as a dangerous crossing point. Investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of the collision.
