Nancy Guthrie disappearance investigation continues in Arizona

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, who was reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona, home in February 2026. Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31, 2026, after having dinner with her daughter and son-in-law. Security footage from the night revealed a masked individual tampering with a camera, but the circumstances of her disappearance remain unsolved.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos issued a statement clarifying that Savannah Guthrie and her family have been cleared of any involvement in the case. Nanos described the family as “victims in this case” and urged the media to report with “compassion and professionalism.”

While several ransom notes have been received by media outlets, investigators have described the clues as dead ends. There has been speculation regarding whether the kidnapping was motivated by the family's public profile, with a retired FBI agent suggesting that media coverage of the family's hometown may have provided kidnappers with information to locate Nancy Guthrie. Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie has reportedly reduced her workload on the ‘Today Show’ in recent weeks.
