Nankai Railway to run special “Tenkū” tourist train in Wakayama on Aug 12, 2026

Nankai Electric Railway Co., Ltd. will operate a special temporary service of its former tourist train “Tenkū” on 12 August 2026 in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan. The event requires advance reservation through the company’s “Burari Tab” website between 27 July and 6 August, with seats allocated on a first‑come‑first‑served basis and a maximum of 60 passengers per train.

Four trips are scheduled: Tenkū 1 departs Hashimoto at 9:47 am and arrives at Gokurakubashi at 10:30 am; Tenkū 2 leaves Koyasan at 10:30 am, reaches Gokurakubashi at 10:46 am and returns to Hashimoto at 11:28 am; Tenkū 3 runs from Hashimoto at 13:31 pm to Gokurakubashi at 14:20 pm; and Tenkū 4 departs Koyasan at 14:40 pm, arriving at Gokurakubashi at 14:58 pm before ending at Hashimoto at 15:43 pm. Ticket prices are ¥2,000 for Tenkū 2 and ¥3,000 for the others, the same for adults and children, and include a water bottle and souvenir items. The service will operate rain‑or‑shine, with no cancellation wait‑list.
