Nanning strengthens China-ASEAN ties through trade and AI

Nanning, the capital of China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is expanding its role as a key gateway for cooperation with ASEAN. Following the conclusion of the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, the city is leveraging new platforms to enhance international engagement.

A significant highlight of the 23rd CAEXPO was the launch of a new AI marketplace. The exhibition featured frontier technologies such as large AI models, AI chips, intelligent robots, and AI glasses. More than 70 companies showcased over 500 products, resulting in transactions exceeding 28 million yuan (approximately 3.9 million U.S. dollars).

In addition to technological advancements, connectivity has improved with the opening of the Pinglu Canal to navigation. The Nanning Comprehensive Bonded Zone continues to facilitate the distribution of Southeast Asian specialty products across China through cross-border e-commerce networks, supported by the established “Nanning Channel” for trade and investment.
