Nantou County expands social welfare and community care programs

The Nantou County Government is expanding its social welfare initiatives through two primary community-based programs focused on vulnerable populations and child care.

Under the ‘Hand in Hand with Infinite Love’ project, the county government has partnered with the TVBS Hope Foundation, the Christian Cultural Exchange Association, and 28 local churches. In 2025, this collaboration aims to support 1,432 vulnerable households across the county by providing 1,000 TWD in gift vouchers per household alongside ongoing care services. County Magistrate Xu Shu-hua held a ceremony to recognize the contributions of these religious and non-profit partners in providing both material and spiritual support to residents.

Simultaneously, the county is strengthening its ‘Taiwan Dream – Child and Youth Community Companionship’ program. A recent coordination meeting brought together six local bases and social welfare professionals to enhance the support network for children. The program utilizes community-based centers to provide after-school care, nutritional meals, and diverse learning opportunities. By integrating local community resources with professional social welfare systems, the initiative seeks to build stable, long-term support systems within the neighborhoods where children live.
