The Nantou County Government continues to implement administrative and social welfare initiatives focused on labor rights, gender equality, and community support.

In August 2026, the county underwent an on-site inspection by the Ministry of Labor regarding occupational safety and health standards. This evaluation focused on the county’s framework for promoting safety across agencies, protection for high-risk operations, accident prevention, and the protection of workers' mental and physical health. To support its workforce, the county provides health checkup subsidies of 4,500 TWD every two years for contract workers aged 40 and above, alongside official leave. The government is working with the central government to address safety management in remote areas, construction sites, and small-to-medium enterprises.

Social welfare efforts remain a priority through the ‘Hand in Hand with Infinite Love’ project. Partnering with the TVBS Hope Foundation, the Christian Cultural Exchange Association, and 28 local churches, the project aims to support 1,432 vulnerable households in 2025 with 1,000 TWD in gift vouchers and ongoing care services. Magistrate Xu Shu-hua recently held a ceremony to recognize these religious and non-profit partners.

Additionally, the ‘Taiwan Dream – Child and Youth Community Companionship’ program is being strengthened. A recent coordination meeting with six local bases and social welfare professionals sought to enhance the support network for children. The program utilizes community-based centers to provide after-school care, nutritional meals, and learning opportunities, aiming to integrate local resources with professional welfare systems.
