Nantou County Government Wins Top Labor Rating and Advances Gender Mainstreaming

The Nantou County Government reported that, in July 2026, eight local civil groups revised their bylaws to ensure that at least one‑third of board seats are held by a single gender, meeting the national gender‑equality policy guidelines. Six additional organisations were newly registered, bringing the total number of legally recognised groups in the county to about 1,950, with the majority focused on social services, culture and economic development.

In a separate assessment, the county’s Labor Bureau received a Grade‑A rating from Taiwan’s Ministry of Labor for its enforcement of labor‑condition regulations. County Magistrate Hsu Shu‑hua highlighted the administration’s ongoing inspections, legal guidance and training that help employers comply with the Labor Standards Act, Gender Equality in Employment Act and related statutes, aiming to protect workers’ wages, hours and leave rights.
