Nantou County honors long-married couples in anniversary ceremonies

Local governments in Nantou County, Taiwan, held ceremonies to honor long-married couples ahead of the Double Ninth Festival. The celebrations recognized various milestones, including Golden, Diamond, and Platinum wedding anniversaries.

In Tanaka Township, the township office honored 50 couples, including 7 platinum wedding anniversaries (70 years) and 43 diamond wedding anniversaries (60 years). The event featured a customized diamond gift ceremony and performances by local dance groups and singer Liu Fu-chu.

Separately, the Nantou County Government organized a large-scale two-day event at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village to honor 1,386 exemplary couples. This included 1,001 golden wedding couples, 332 diamond wedding couples, and 53 platinum wedding couples. County Magistrate Hsü Shu-hua praised the seniors as role models for marriage and stability in modern society.
