Naples Airport unveils 250 million euro Masterplan through 2035

The Masterplan for Naples Airport has been presented in the Campania Region, outlining a strategic development roadmap through 2035. The plan aims to increase efficiency, accessibility, and integration with the city while improving passenger services.

Total investments are projected to exceed 250 million euros by 2035, with 230 million euros coming from private resources. The project includes the acquisition of approximately 170,000 square meters of new land. Key infrastructure developments include a 15,000 square meter terminal for extra-Schengen flights, new aircraft parking stands, a cargo-logistics area, an airport hotel, and improved access roads, including the undergrounding of Viale Maddalena.

Financial allocations include 93 million euros for flight infrastructure, 62 million euros for the terminal, and 95 million euros for road access, airport buildings, and sustainability measures. More than 13 million euros are specifically earmarked for environmental sustainability. The plan targets a sustainable traffic increase to 17.3 million passengers annually by 2035 without increasing current hourly capacity, relying instead on larger aircraft, higher load factors, and more efficient flight scheduling.
