Campania prepares for major international sports and gastronomy events

The Campania region is preparing for a series of major international and domestic events focused on sports, gastronomy, and maritime engineering.

In Naples, the city is positioning itself as a global sporting hub. Preparations are underway for the America's Cup 2027, with the AC40 American Racing Challenger boat scheduled to participate in preliminary regattas in the Gulf of Naples this September. International teams, including those from France and Switzerland, are already conducting technical trials in the area. Additionally, Naples will host high-profile volleyball matches and the return of the Giro di Campania cycling race.

In Salerno, the XV edition of the Cibo & Dintorni event is set for September 2026, featuring over 100 companies and buyers from 16 countries to promote agro-food excellence. This follows the recent success of Campania Wine in Naples, which showcased the region's diverse viticulture.

Technical and infrastructural developments are also a priority. A national conference in Naples will address hydraulic engineering and maritime construction, specifically focusing on the ambitious coastal redevelopment projects in Bagnoli related to the America's Cup. These initiatives aim to integrate sports, tourism, and economic growth across the region.
