Naples implements month-long alcohol ban and nightlife curfew

Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi has signed an ordinance implementing strict regulations on nightlife and alcohol sales in designated areas of the city. The measure aims to balance business freedom with the rights of residents to health, rest, and recovery.

From October 16, 2026, to November 16, 2026, the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages for takeaway will be prohibited daily between midnight and 6:00 AM. The regulations apply to all public catering businesses, retail shops, food preparation businesses, and vending machines within the specified zones.

Operating hours for establishments will also be restricted: businesses must close by 1:00 AM from Sunday to Thursday, and by 2:00 AM on Fridays. Violations of these rules may result in the revocation of business licenses.
