Naples Naval Station conducts maritime inspections during America's Cup

Military personnel from the Naples Naval Station have conducted extraordinary inspections along the coast during the 38th edition of the America's Cup preliminary regattas. These operations were part of an intensified economic and financial police service aimed at monitoring maritime activities during the international sailing event.

During these checks, authorities caught an individual performing the role of an unauthorized yacht broker. The individual was collecting requests from clients interested in using various types of vessels for tourism or recreational purposes and directing them to specialized rental companies without the legal requirements or authorizations mandated by the Code of Leisure Boating. As a result, the individual was issued an administrative fine ranging from 7,500 to 15,000 euros.
