Naples Prefecture targets five companies in anti-mafia crackdown
The Prefecture of Naples, led by Prefect Michele di Bari, has implemented new measures to combat organized crime infiltration within the local economy. Five companies in the province have been targeted through different legal mechanisms.
Two companies have received anti-mafia injunctions (interdittive) due to suspected ties to criminal organizations. These businesses, located in Qualiano and Casandrino, operate in the wholesale and retail seafood import-export sector and the wholesale clothing and accessories sector, respectively.
Additionally, three other companies based in San Giuseppe Vesuviano and Somma Vesuviana have been placed under ‘collaborative prevention’ measures. These companies, active in administrative services, construction, and real estate mediation, will continue to operate under monitoring for one year. This measure is intended for businesses deemed recoverable that show signs of occasional facilitation of criminal interests rather than deep-seated infiltration.
