Naples anti-mafia economic crackdown

Overview

The Prefecture of Naples, under Prefect Michele di Bari, has initiated measures to prevent organized crime from infiltrating the local economy.

Authorities have targeted five companies in the province using different legal mechanisms. Two businesses in the seafood import-export and clothing sectors received anti-mafia injunctions due to suspected ties to criminal organizations.

Three additional companies involved in administrative services, construction, and real estate mediation have been placed under ‘collaborative prevention’ measures. These businesses will remain under monitoring for one year to ensure they do not facilitate criminal interests.
