Naples prepares for 2027 America's Cup as teams arrive

Naples is preparing to host the 38th America's Cup, with the final races scheduled to take place between May and July 2027. Preliminary regattas involving AC40 boats were held in the Bay of Naples from September 24 to 27, 2026, serving as a test for crews and official preparations.

In preparation for the 2027 event, the La Roche-Posay Racing Team has become the first crew to begin concrete work at the Bagnoli base, transferring their AC75 hull from Lorient to Naples. The French team plans to remain in the area throughout the winter, aiming to get their vessel in the water by October. This move precedes the expected return of the Luna Rossa team, which is slated to arrive in Naples in January.

Infrastructure developments in the Bagnoli area are progressing to support the competition, including the creation of a village featuring fan zones, a media center, and team shops.
